Press release 5.3.2012

Next summer, Componenta will offer summer jobs for some 10-15 tenth grade students in its Finnish production units in Karkkila, Pori, Iisalmi and Pietarsaari. Employment of tenth grade students is related to the corporate responsibility theme 2012 “Work creates work” of the union for family-owned companies (Perheyritystenliitto) in Finland.

The union encourages its members to offer summer jobs for students who have passed a tenth grade. The target is to offer them a possibility to have an access to work life and entrepreneurship. At the same time, they will be encouraged to be active and responsible and supported to choose their own career path.

“As a responsible company, Componenta is pleased to be part of the campaign by providing summer jobs for tenth grade students and encouraging them to entrepreneurship. Componenta finds it very important that young people will get work experience as early as possible and, according to the theme, they trust that it is worth to work in Finland also in the future,” says Minna Mero. She is responsible for the campaign at Componenta.

In addition to employing tenth grade students, Componenta will employ some 25 university students through its International Trainee Program to finance, sales, engineering and product development, human resource and supply chain positions in Componenta’s operations in Turkey, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Italy. Also, students will be employed to, for example, maintenance related positions in the production units.

An application period for the tenth grade student positions is currently in progress and they can be applied by 30 April. An application form can be found on Componenta’s web pages at www.componenta.com/careers.
