Helsinki Court of Appeal decision in the matter between VR Ltd and Componenta
Karkkila Oy
Helsinki Court of Appeal has today announced its decision according to which
Componenta CPC Oy (now called Componenta Karkkila Oy) is ordered to compensate
VR Ltd (Finnish Railways) a total of approximately EUR 1.9 million including
interest of delay from 16 June 1997 in compensation for train wheels supplied
and indirect costs. This total sum also includes compensation for VR Ltd's legal
costs in the matter.

The Court of Appeal has thereby upheld the Helsinki District Court's prior
decision in the matter of 31 December 2003. The decision of the Court of Appeal
relates to a contract to supply train wheels signed in 1990 and wheels supplied
in 1991 and 1992.

Componenta is recording the above compensation order of the Helsinki Court of
Appeal amounting to approximately EUR 1.9 million in the result for the last
quarter of 2007 as a one-time item.
