Managing Director, Lead Sound Designer/Mixer, Executive Producer, Composers Named

CHICAGO – October 31, 2011 – Citing stellar leadership and outstanding performance as catalysts for the moves, Comma co-founders and creative directors Larry Pecorella and Bryan Rheude announced today the promotions of two executives, three producers, three composers and the addition of a new associate producer, as part of the company's continuing efforts to strengthen itself for long-term success in the rapidly expanding field of original music composition, sound design and mixing.

Bonny Dolan is promoted to Managing Director of Comma, an industry leader in original music composition and production for Web, TV, commercials and film, and retains her title as Executive Producer, responsible for daily operations of Comma and its sister companies Particle, Onda and Implement. Dolan, who works across the company’s Chicago, New York and Santa Monica, Calif. offices, has been with Comma for four years, serving in several leadership positions during that time. Most recently, she was Executive Producer and in charge of artists’ relations. Among her notable accomplishments was building bridges between record labels, artist management and artists with brands and ad agencies. An expert at sourcing, securing and licensing music, Dolan is also responsible for Comma’s expansion into music supervision, which counts McDonald’s, Apple, Samsung and Leo Burnett among its clients.

Kate Mindeman, of Comma’s sister company Particle, an award-winning sound design and post audio facility, is promoted to Lead Sound Designer/Mixer. This new title recognizes Mindeman’s roll as a talented audio artist and perfectionist audio-for-picture mixer.   She is also responsible for overseeing the work of the other audio pros on staff.  A three-year veteran of Particle, Mindeman most recently served as designer/mixer at Another Country for four years. Known for her vivacious personality and passion for experimentation, Mindeman’s notable clients include Kellogg’s, Phillip Morris, Coors Light and Nintendo.

Luz Agudelo has been serving as the Executive Producer of Onda Musica Y Sonido, which brings together the resources of Comma and Particle to offer clients original Latino music composition and all aspects of audio post-production. To that roll, Aguedelo now adds the title of producer for Comma.  She joins a team of four other general market producers to manage the workflow on the original music side. Aguedelo came to Comma a year ago to launch Onda, based on her extensive experience in the use of Latino music in mainstream advertising, TV and film.  A native of Columbia, Agudelo contributed her production expertise to countless television and radio ads made for the “Obama For America” campaign while working at the nation’s leading political consulting firm, AKPD Message and Media.

Becca Scampini is promoted to Senior Producer of Comma.  With a broad range of production experience, Scampini has been instrumental in overseeing the music development for major advertising commercials such as Toyota, Nike and Coke Zero.  As a producer at Comma since 2008, Scampini has helped to oversee its growth into a nationally-recognized music house, claiming the reputation as a nimble, forward-thinking company.

Pete Schmidt is promoted to Senior Composer from Composer.  A self-taught musician, Schmidt’s expertise makes him a highly regarded composer in the industry.  Recent Schmidt compositions include the imaginative McDonald's "Spaceman Stu" and the wonderfully quirky score for Herman Miller "This is You". Schmidt has been with Comma since 2001.

After a long track record of success, Matt Kelly and Josh Good have moved into the role of composers, and Mike Koza, formerly with Particle, has been added to the Comma team as associate producer.  Known for inspiring others, Paul Shallcross is promoted to producer for Comma’s online music library, Implement.  Shallcross is an avid drummer, and has been with Comma since 2010.

"These promotions recognize the instrumental roles our team has played in Comma’s growth and success," noted Pecorella and Rheude. "They represent collectively a remarkable breadth of talent and expertise in several areas of Comma’s in-house capabilities.”
