CONNOVA TVX AB AND X2 MEDIA GROUP AB REACH AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE REGARDING COLLABORATION IN THE NEWSPAPER AND PUBLISHING SEGMENT ConNova TVX AB and X2 Media Group AB signed an agreement on 9 March regarding collaboration in the newspaper and publishing sphere. The agreement stipulates that ConNova TVX AB will assume responsibility for the publishing companies' subscriber management activities. The company will also assume overall responsibility for the customer databases and provide updated databases. The assignment covers all aspects of customer service agreement, i.e. customer support, registration, ordering routines, billing, contacts with suppliers and statistics and reporting. X2 Media Group AB will market and sell the service to publishing companies, initially in Sweden. The company has accumulated considerable experience of the industry and performed a thorough study of the market for this service during the autumn of 2000. Together the companies will offer newspapers and magazines systems and services designed to nurture and handle their unique customer base. With the help of advanced technology from ConNova TVX AB and intelligent utilisation of the Internet, the publishing companies can use the services offered by X2 and ConNova TVX to cut their costs and enhance their revenues. This allows X2 to help the publishing companies to consolidate their long-term relationships with their loyal readers. For ConNova TVX AB, the deal means that the company is establishing itself in a whole new industry segment. It also serves as confirmation that ConNova TVX AB's customer management system, BizManager, is suited to a variety of market segments. X2 owns and runs the web site known as Tidningar.se, where consumers can subscribe to some 600 different newspapers and magazines. X2 held informal discussions with a number of publications during 2000 and identified a need for a player providing "service agency" services, a so-called Application Service Provider capable of using the Internet for collecting customer data, reporting and data processing for the purposes of customer analysis and campaign design.
