More consumers now have access to affordable, no contract cellphone plans

Consumer Cellular, the number one rated cellphone service provider in the U.S. and the exclusive wireless provider for AARP members, has announced the launch of portable memory chips, known as SIM cards, giving  both existing and potential customers the opportunity to utilize their current phones with Consumer Cellular service plans. The Consumer Cellular SIM card can be used within unlocked GSM phones - including the popular Apple iPhone, phones previously used with AT&T, and Consumer Cellular phones. SIM cards are now available online www.consumercellular.com/Info/Phones and at participating RadioShack franchise locations.

“What we like most about this offering is that it gives more people access to our affordable, no contract cellphone plans,” said John Marick, CEO of Consumer Cellular.

The SIM cards will cost $10 at participating RadioShack franchise locations. After retail customers activate service, they will receive a $10 credit on their first invoice, offsetting the price of the card. Consumers can also access and activate the SIM cards free of charge online at www.ConsumerCellular.com or by calling Consumer Cellular Customer Service at 888-213-5349.
