Major order for Mind after signing SEK 20 The Internet company Mind has signed an agreement with News Presslink Communications. The first phase of this agreement is valued at approx. SEK 20 million and involves Mind developing a portal platform for newspapers and magazines. The platform called Newslink 1.0 provides newspapers with the opportunity of coordinating their production systems with the Internet, making it easier to create reader-controlled portals. The agreement with News Presslink Communications is the largest individual account Mind has acquired so far. The value of the order in its initial phase is estimated at almost SEK 20 million. "This is a major business transaction for Mind and clearly shows that we hold a strong position in the market. We are helping to develop an entirely new type of integration between media and the Internet which is extremely exciting," says Jörgen Larsson, CEO at Mind. Newslink 1.0 is a system simplifying newspapers' coordination with the Internet. The idea is to connect the Internet edition of the newspaper to this technical system. Using this platform, newspapers create their own portals, giving readers the opportunity of controlling what they wish to read. The platform has been developed to manage several functions, for example, publication, placing adverts and e-commerce. The portal platform not only offers readers a unique, tailored newspaper but it also provides the newspaper's sales and advertising departments with excellent information about the various target groups. In turn, this affects the production of the printed newspaper and any supplements. "In partnership with Mind we are creating a completely new system for newspapers. The platform provides newspapers with more information about readers and their interests. We aim to give the right content to the right reader in terms of both articles and adverts," says Bo Johansson, one of the founders of News Presslink Communications.
