ContextVision Delivers GOPView™ US Ultrasound Real-Time Enhancement for DSP platform
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — June 1, 2005 — ContextVision announced today initial shipments of GOPView™ US for DSP (digital signal processor) platforms. The extended capabilities allow Ultrasound systems to use a PC or DSP to achieve real-time image enhancement and speckle reduction using ContextVision’s powerful software. This allows Ultrasound manufacturers to leverage the capabilities of GOPView US, regardless of the presence or availability of a Pentium processor.
GOPView US reduces noise and speckle, in real time, while also achieving fine structural and edge enhancement. Additionally, it offers clinical and ergonomic advantages, including higher diagnostic confidence and reduction of eye fatigue. GOPView US works on all imaging modes, also including Color/Doppler and 3D/4D imaging. “ContextVision provides Ultrasound manufacturers with multiple solutions for image enhancement,” commented Jan Erik Hedborg, CEO of ContextVision AB. “Our expansion into the DSP arena opens up new areas in the Ultrasound market, where we continue to see an increased demand for real-time image enhancements, such as those realized by GOPView US.” The DSP real-time image enhancement platform is based on a customized version of ContextVision’s patented GOP algorithm and works with DSP TMS320c64xx from Texas Instruments. Its processing capabilities work with both pre-scan and scan converted data, and preserves processing power for future other applications in the PC. GOPView US can easily be integrated into a DSP or PC platform and provides excellent results across all fields, including cardiology, abdominal, small parts and obstetrics/gynecology. ContextVision offers a full range of Ultrasound products including an analysis/segmentation product LVEF (Left ventricle Ejection Fraction) and real-time image enhancement for PC and DSP. Looking ahead, clinical requirements may create a demand for real-time image enhancement for stand-alone/retrofit installations.
