Unparalleled Group Purchasing Program for Private Practice Physicians

LOS ANGELES, September 1, 2012 –Today, the Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. (CAP), launched CAPSource, the most comprehensive group purchasing program of its kind in California. CAPSource offers access to reduced rates on virtually everything physicians need to run a private practice. This includes: medical and office supplies, credit card processing, x-ray supplies, vaccines, medical waste disposal, and more.

As a physician owned and physician governed organization, the California-based medical professional liability provider is widely recognized as an industry leader focused on supporting private practice physicians in every area of their practice. CAPSource marks the first full-scale program borne of CAP’s newly launched Practice Management Services Committee. This group of physicians and industry experts identifies challenges specific to independent physicians, and create programs to enable physicians to overcome those challenges.

“It’s not just about cost savings; it’s about making things easier, especially for our small practice physicians. This is just one way we assist physicians in an increasingly challenging health care industry that often favors big business,” says Cindy Farrington, CAP’s senior vice president of Operations.

Nearly 12,000 California physicians qualify for CAPSource at no charge, as a benefit of membership. The program is part of an exclusive partnership with a national leader in health care group purchasing programs. While CAPSource is limited to members, CAP supports the entire physician community with programs available to all physicians, including risk management seminars, residency training programs, and more.
