Ernest Khirallah Joins Cooperative of American Physicians

The Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. (CAP) announced today the addition of Ernest R. Khirallah to its management team as its new Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications.
Mr. Khirallah brings years of expertise in marketing, advertising, branding, and communications in the health care space – including many years as a consultant to CAP during a period of successful membership growth.
Most recently, Mr. Khirallah served as the Executive Director of the American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives, the practice management division of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He founded and ran Marketing Plus from 1992 to 2011, a consultancy providing marketing and advertising services to various organizations. In this capacity, Mr. Khirallah served as the Chief Marketing Officer for two successful startups in addition to spearheading growth with more well-established clients.
“Mr. Khirallah played a key role in driving a period of significant growth at CAP from 1996 to 2006,” says Chief Executive Officer James L. Weidner. “We are pleased to have him join us in an internal role to provide strategic and tactical marketing and communications leadership throughout the CAP enterprise.”
Mr. Khirallah will report directly to Cindy Belcher, Senior Vice President, and will work in CAP’s Palo Alto and Los Angeles offices.
