Comprehensive environmental audit is good for the environment

Since 2011 Coor has completed an extensive environmental review of the services provided to the company’s clients based on an exclusively developed, unique tool, Coor Green Services. Coor uses the result from the audit to discuss potential environmental actions with clients - with good results.

Coor is the first service management corporation in the world to offer clients a comprehensive environmental accreditation system. In 2014’s audit 136 companies contributed, in contrast to 125 companies the previous year. The environmental audit concludes that the quantity of silver nominees are fewer this year, from 69 to 58. Whereas the amount companies nominated for gold has increased from 28 to 34 – even though the conditions are more challenging each year. The result depicts the fact that more companies focus on environment and sustainability.

- It’s encouraging to follow the development in the amount of evaluations, silver and gold nominees where our clients meet the criteria’s we set out with Coor Green Services. The tool is made to engage our clients and to motivate them to constantly be aware of their environmental impact. We can also notice a trend in an increased demand of the environmental audit from several of our clients, says Mikael Karlsson, HSEQ manager in Coor Service Management.

Each year Coor in Sweden appoint “The Environmental Star of the Year”. The award goes to a client whose excellence within the area is distinguishing, the announcement takes place at an award ceremony in May. The award involves a price sum to be donated by The Environmental Star of the Year to an environmental charity of their choosing.
