CMP and SCA Logistics have signed a partnership agreement. It makes Malmö a new hub in the hygiene and forestry industry company’s transport network. The goods arrive by ship at CMP, where they are transhipped and sent on to customers in the region.

“We’re delighted with the partnership with SCA Logistics, who are adapting their products and goods flows in a skilful way according to market conditions. This benefits our business, which is at the heart of the Öresund region. In subsequent stages we look forward to being able to grow volumes together with this major, well-respected customer,” says Ann-Charlotte Halldén Åkeson, Key Account Manager at CMP.

RoRo ships from SCA Logistics will be calling at CMP once a week. The first one will arrive on 20 March. The company provides sea and land transport services within Europe and to other markets all over the world. The business is based on a network of terminals at strategic locations all over Europe. SCA Logistics is part of SCA’s Forest Products business area, which produces, among other things, paper for packaging and printing.

Part of SCA’s transport network
SCA Logistics operates RoRo services primarily with paper products. Ships travel between ports in Sweden, Germany, the UK and the rest of Europe. The new agreement means that CMP is now part of this transport network. In addition to ships calling at port, the partnership also includes storage and handling. In Malmö, SCA’s products will be transhipped onto trucks for onward transport to customers in the region.

“One of CMP’s strengths is the proximity to Denmark and the rest of the Öresund region. The strategic location is also one of the reasons why we have added Malmö to our transport loop,” says Magnus Svensson, CEO, SCA Logistics.

“CMP also has plenty of capacity in the form of areas and terminals. We’re also good at adapting technology and service to meet our customers’ changing needs, says Ann-Charlotte Halldén Åkeson.”
