Press invitation – CMP presents its investments in Copenhagen

Copenhagen is already the biggest and most popular cruise destination in Northern Europe. Meanwhile, global interest in cruises is on the rise. The new quay in Nordhavn, which shall be completed in time for the cruise season 2013, will be able to receive three large cruise ships at any one time. Copenhagen Malmö port (CMP) is on course to meet future needs and global competition head on.

Another of CMP's major investments to create a more modern and efficient port is the development of the area Prøvesten. The area has been expanded by an additional 18 hectares and a new 650 metre long quayside and will have the capacity to cater for both existing and new customers of the port. After the landscaping was completed in late autumn 2011, CMP turned its attention to the development of the technical infrastructure.

On Sunday, 6 May, CMP will open the port to the general public and the press. Throughout the day boat trips will provide the opportunity to see areas that the public would not normally have access to. The view from the boats provides an excellent overview of the ongoing expansion and development of the port. In Frihavn, there will be an exhibition to present the vision of Copenhagen and Malmö 2020.

The boat trip for the press departs from Frihavn at 09:00, headed to the two major investment areas of Prøvesten and the cruise terminal. During the boat trip, CEO Johan Röstin and Deputy CEO Lennart Pettersson will be on hand to answer any questions and to talk about CMP's on-going and future port operations in Copenhagen and Malmö, where large infrastructure projects are currently being realized.

The boat trip takes about 45 minutes.
