Major Swiss contract for Broderick’s chocolate products
Artisan chocolate bar and cake makers, Broderick’s, have secured a contract with Valora Retail Switzerland.
The initial order placed is for over 36,000 Rocky Road (Road Rocking Choc Choc Block) and Peanut Heaven (Nutty Crunchy Caramel Munchie) wrapped Broderick’s bars, which will be stocked in selected retail outlets throughout Switzerland.
All of the products are hand-made in the company’s family-run, Dublin-based bakery, using high quality ingredients including Irish butter and Belgian chocolate.
Barry Broderick said:” The Swiss are famous for their chocolate so to sell our chocolate bars within such a discerning marketplace of chocolate lovers is a real vote of confidence in our brand. We couldn’t ask for a better endorsement of our quality standards and recipes.”
Broderick’s innovative products are already stocked throughout retails outlets in France, Germany, Denmark, Iceland, Japan, Russia and Dubai, and are available in Selfridges and Amazon in the UK and via a wide retail network in Ireland.
The company also has a strong presence within the UK and Irish foodservice sectors, as Barry Broderick explained:” Approximately 20 per cent of our current sales are within the UK foodservice sector, where we have secured twelve distributors to date. Our UK sales have increased by 40 per cent over the past two years and we expect considerable further growth as awareness of our range of premium, hand-made tray bakes, wrapped bars and cakes increases.”
Brothers, Barry and Bernard Broderick, started their baking careers at their mother, Ina’s side, bashing biscuits for her famous cheesecakes at their kitchen table in the heart of Dublin. (http://www.inashandmade.ie/)
They joined the business in the 1990s and established the Broderick’s brand, known for its creative and zany products which include Tiff Toff in the Tuffen (Belgian chocolate biscuit cake), Rollypolly Crunchy Oats in a Stickywicky Coat (hand-made granola slice) and Belgy Nicker Nutty Drippy Drop (hand-made chocolate caramel nut bar with cranberries).
