Copytrack was accepted by the BAPLA Committee as an official member of the British association for image agencies in mid-August. “The BAPLA membership is a major step in developing further our international cooperations”, comments Marcus Schmitt. “As a partner of the British association we support the common goals to strengthen, protect and raise awareness of copyright. We are looking forward to putting these goals into action together with the many key partners in the UK.” The membership also enables the Berlin-based company to participate in the exchange of information between the UK image industry and further expand their partnerships with local agencies.

For Copytrack, the participation in this year’s BAPLA FOCUS Conference is their first major appearance in the United Kingdom since Fotofringe in April. After the CEPIC Congress Copytrack started to work with image agencies from the UK.

The British Association of Picture Agencies (BAPLA) was founded in 1975. BAPLA represents a wide range of image providers from the fields of stock, press and cultural heritage as well as technology providers and individual companies. The association represents the interests of its members at a national and international level and promotes the exchange of information between its members. BAPLA's cooperation partners include the Digital Media Licensing Association (DMLA) and the international organisation of the picture industry CEPIC, which Copytrack became a member in July of this year.

About COPYTRACK

COPYTRACK was founded in 2015 by Marcus Schmitt. The company now consists of a team of around 25 colleagues from legal, IT, to customer service, and finance. The service is offered to photographers, publishers, picture agencies and e-commerce vendors, and includes a risk-free search of the Internet worldwide. Photos uploaded by the users are located by COPYTRACK with a hit accuracy of 98 per cent. The customers can then define if images are with or without a license, and even determine the number of subsequent fees, supported by an automatic license calculator on our portal. COPYTRACK is fully responsible for out-of-court resolutions in over 140 countries, as well as legal resolutions in the relevant areas of copyright law. If the post-licensing process has been successful, the rights holder receives up to 70 percent of the agreed sum. The search function is free of charge.
