Are Britons throwing glasses out the window?

A recent survey from GetLenses.co.uk has revealed that the UK’s contact lens wearing public are ditching their glasses and opting to wear contact lenses, because they make them feel more attractive.

In a bid to discover what people really think about glasses and contact lenses, leading online contact lens suppliers, GetLenses.co.uk, polled over 2,500 contact lens wearers, discovering that people prefer wearing contact lenses not only for convenience and comfort, but because they feel more confident without glasses. In fact, the survey revealed that only 10% of UK’s public find people more attractive wearing glasses.

When asked what people didn’t like about glasses, 40% said they are put off by those wearing glasses as they can’t see their eyes. Because contact lenses offer glasses wearers a convenient alternative to eyewear, wearers gain all the advantages of perfect vision, without glasses getting in the way. Many contact lens wearers describe being ‘addicted’ to wearing them due to their multiple benefits.

Ashley Mealor, marketing director at GetLenses.co.uk, said: “Geek Chic has become the trend amongst the catwalks, but we weren’t surprised to find that customers feel more confident wearing contact lenses. At Getlenses we provide comfortable and affordable lenses that help to make people look and feel confident with no compromise on style or price.”

Getlenses.co.uk offer prescription and non-prescription contact lenses, as well as a range of colours so wearers can even change their eye colour to match their mood and style.
