Young people with an artistic streak are being invited to enter a national competition to design a screen saver promoting a free legal service which helps children and young people.

Coram Children’s Legal Centre (CCLC), a charity which specialises in law and policy affecting children and young people, is holding the contest to raise awareness  of its new Child Law Advice online service add website address. The service, funded by the Department of Education, offers free advice on family, child and education law for every parent, carer and young person in England.

Those aged 16 to 24 are invited to submit designs for a screen saver which represents the theme of ‘Justice for children and young people.’ The winning design will be turned into a screen saver that will include CCLC’s website address www.childrenslegalcentre.com  and be nationally distributed to  a wide range of individuals and organisations who may wish to use the service themselves or signpost it to parents and children they work with.

Amy Winter, CCLC’s Business Support Manager, who is on the panel of judges, said:

“We want as many people as possible to know about our free Child Law Advice service, which covers everything from the minimum age you can be to have a Saturday job to what parents can do if their child is excluded from school. We are looking for commanding designs that capture what ‘justice for children and young people’ means to the individual and positively promote the Child Law Advice service.  We want entrants to use their imaginations and use their own choice of medium in the design, like photography, drawings or graphic design.”

Entrants must be aged between 16 and 24 and be living in England. The winning designer will receive a £100 voucher.
