Corps Security, the leading provider of specialist security services, has announced that it has been awarded a place on the prestigious London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) framework agreement for Security Services. Under this new agreement the company will supply a range of services from its portfolio to a broad range of universities and colleges of higher education in and around the capital and the South East of England, as well as other not-for-profit organisations in the arts and culture sectors.

LUPC was established in 1968 as a not-for-profit professional buying organisation owned by its members, for its members. It is one of six higher education purchasing consortia in the UK that work collaboratively together, and with other specialist sector purchasing organisations, to tender and manage more than 100 EU-compliant framework agreements for its members to use.

With over 600 suppliers, LUPC’s agreements are well recognised in the higher education sector and companies have to undergo a rigorous evaluation process. Owing to the high spend potential for its supply agreements, framework agreements and contracts are put out to competitive tender. This involves a process under which forthcoming agreements are advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) and tender responses are assessed under strict guidelines. This ensures that companies are capable of serving all members with a high standard of quality and service and have a commitment to competitive pricing.

Corps Security is one of just four security providers on Lot 1 – Large Contracts (over £250K) of the LUPC framework and its services will be used for a diverse range of large-scale contracts. Being awarded a place on this framework will act as a major enabler for Corps Security to expand into the higher education, arts and culture sectors.

Corps Security’s corporate account Director, Nick Clegg, commented, ‘We are delighted to have been awarded a place on the LUPC framework, as it’s something that we have been working hard towards for the last few years. Just as importantly, it will give us the opportunity to provide our expertise to a diverse range of institutions which will benefit from a superb level of service that exceeds all expectations.’
