Mike Bluestone of Corps Security puts counter terrorism in the spotlight at Facilities Show 2016
Corps Security, the leading provider of specialist security services, has announced that Mike Bluestone, Director of the company’s Corps Consult division, will deliver a presentation at Facilities Show 2016, which takes place on 21st-23rd June at ExCeL, London. As a leading expert in the subject of counter terrorism, Bluestone will provide a summary of the issues currently affecting modern organisations and outline some of the key considerations that need to be addressed to make them more resilient, so that they can better protect people, property and assets.
The Facilities Show 2016 will be holding a complementary educational programme which includes practical and strategic presentations to be delivered by handpicked industry experts, such as Bluestone.
Having worked at a senior level in private security for nearly 25 years, Mike is widely recognised for his expertise in, and contribution to, security management, investigations and training. He joined Corps Security in 2010 and is the approved trainer in security management for the British Institute of Facilities Management, having pioneered security management training and security awareness courses within the industry. He is a regular guest broadcaster on the BBC, frequently speaks at seminars and conferences, and has had many articles published on corporate security and related topics.
Countering Terrorism – Practical Guidance for FMs will take place on the 22nd June between 3.20pm and 3.50pm in the FM Operational Excellence Arena. Mike will cover a range of topics including how to identify the sources of threats, terrorist methodology and the impact of terrorism on public and private sector organisations. He will also examine BS 65000 Guidance for Organisational Resilience, the importance of policies and procedures, employee training and awareness programmes, and the need for regular reviews and audits. The presentation will then go on to look at why enterprises should have the right level of physical and electronic security in place, and how to go about ensuring that an infrastructure can cope with an unplanned event.
‘It’s an enormous honour to be invited to Facilities Show 2016 to talk about this incredibly important subject,’ Mike commented. ‘The direct and indirect effects of a terrorist attack can have a devastating impact on an organisation and the need to have systems in place to deal with such an event should not be ignored. I’m looking forward to giving delegates a wealth of information about organisational resilience that will help them deal with this issue in an efficient, effective and decisive manner.’
