Leading Mergers and Acquisitions firm Corum Group International today announced the promotion of Mark Johnson to Vice President, managing Corum’s expanding presence in the Nordic countries.
“Our business in Europe, and particularly in the Nordics, has been increasing steadily. We are very pleased to announce Mark’s promotion to VP, and are excited about our European team’s continued growth,” said Corum President Nat Burgess.
Mr. Johnson joined Corum in August 2011 as a Regional Director based in Stockholm, where he managed client accounts in addition to supporting other Corum deal makers across the globe. Prior to joining Corum, he served as CEO of Activio AB and as an investment director at Nordic Venture Partners, both roles in Stockholm. Mr. Johnson also has several years’ experience working as an IT Management consultant in Silicon Valley; he began his career in the US Navy where he served as a communications officer and hovercraft commander.
In the past two years Corum has closed seven sell-side technology deals in the Nordics, with both private equity and strategic buyers. Deals include the acquisition of Finland-based Nervogrid by ALSO, the acquisition of Sweden’s Expert Systems by ReadSoft, and the recapitalization of Danish Ciklum by Horizon Capital. Johnson has also been a critical component of Corum’s increasing activity in other key European markets, as well as Asia and Latin America.
“The team at Corum Group is world class, and as a direct result our deal volume across the globe is at record levels,” said Mark Johnson. “We have a number of ongoing processes in LOI currently, and I’m very excited about our growth opportunities, especially here in the Nordics where we are particularly strong.”
Mr. Johnson has his MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics and his BS in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
