Glass Gaze is the bold and captivating new album from French classical guitar duo Roxane Elfasci and Baptiste Erard, joined by dynamic percussionist Théo Lampérier. Reimagining Philip Glass’s iconic Piano Etudes for two guitars and percussion, the trio breathes new life into twelve selected pieces, creating a sonic landscape where minimalism meets contemporary textures.
Born from a chance encounter with Etude No. 16 and nurtured over two years of intense exploration, Glass Gaze transforms Glass’s piano writing into guitar-native soundscapes, complete with rasgueados, harmonics, alternate tunings, and intricate rhythmic layering. The duo have been praised by a number of international press, with their previous works featured & celebrated by the likes of France Musique, BBC Radio, Magic Classical, Times Radio, NTS, as well as Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine and Guitar World. Elfasci has also seen great success with audiences online, with her YouTube channel amassing more than 77,000 subscribers, and over 12 million views.
