Dmitry Chaplin of “Dancing With The Stars” and Friends Gather to Benefit Shane’s Inspiration
“Boogie Wonderland” Gala Celebrating 20 Years of Inclusive Play Honors Prominent Inclusion Advocates on March 10th at Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles
February 8, 2018, Los Angeles, CA – Shane’s Inspiration, the global leader in creating inclusive playgrounds and educational programs for children with disabilities, is hosting its 20th Anniversary gala on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles. Emmy-nominated choreographer and one of America’s favorite dancers, Dmitry Chaplin will be joined by his friends from “Dancing With The Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance” for live performances that will keep guests grooving all night long.
Celebrating the opening of 70 inclusive playgrounds worldwide, the festivities will recall the retro chic style of the 70s with a “Boogie Wonderland” theme, featuring live musical entertainment performed by The Boogie Knights. Also performing is X-Factor’s Emmanuel Kelly, who will receive the Trailblazer Award for overcoming severe obstacles to pursue his dream of becoming the world’s first differently-abled pop star.
This star-studded evening of dance and philanthropy will honor other prominent advocates in the special needs community, including Shane’s Inspiration CEO/Co-Founder, Tiffany Harris, who will receive the Visionary Leadership Award for inspiring hundreds of thousands of thoughtful citizens to break down the barriers of bias and exclusion for children with disabilities. Additionally, the Community Leadership Award will be presented to The Bill and Dinah Ruch Family Foundation in memory of Rocket Williams for inspiring the creation of “Rocket’s Universe,” Shane’s 66th inclusive playground which opened in 2017 in North Hollywood as a tribute to John “Rocket” Williams, a child who passed away due to a rare childhood disorder.
VIP guests scheduled to attend include JK Simmons, Andy Garcia, Garcelle Beauvais, David Koechner (“Superior Donuts”), Laura SanGiacomo (“NCIS”), Micah Fowler and Mason Cook (“Speechless”), and Madison McLaughlin (“Arrow,” “Chicago PD”) among many others. “Boogie Wonderland” will feature celebrity red carpet arrivals, cocktail reception, a full-course menu prepared by celebrity chef Neal Fraser of Redbird, live and silent auctions, live entertainment, awards program, dancing, and much more. Funds raised will support the costs associated with Shane’s Inspiration’s programs that teach compassion and acceptance towards people with disabilities.

Shane’s Inspiration came to life in 1998 when Hollywood producer Scott Williams, ("NCIS"), his wife Catherine Curry-Williams, and their close friend CEO Tiffany Harris, wanted to memorialize the tragic loss of the Williams' infant son. Realizing that Shane’s disability would have prevented him from playing on a typical playground with other children, the trio decided to create the first fully inclusive playground in the western United States as a tribute to Shane.
