SHANE’S INSPIRATION TO HOSTS 21st ANNUAL “WALK & ROLL” BENEFIT ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th AT GRIFFITH PARK
Special Guest Brian Dietzen (“NCIS”) and Star WarsTM Characters Help Raise Funds and Awareness for Inclusive Playgrounds and Programs that Benefit Children with Disabilities
WHAT:
Shane's Inspiration’s 21st Annual Walk & Roll celebrates 20 years of building inclusive playgrounds and programs that allow children of ALL abilities to play together. This fun-filled community event welcomes hundreds of inspirational children, many using wheelchairs or walking aids, and their families, as they lead teams on a Walk & Roll to raise funds and awareness for social inclusion for children with disabilities. Participants will enjoy live music, performances, a resource fair and complimentary refreshments while having a blast playing at Shane’s Inspiration’s first-ever inclusive playground in Griffith Park.
WHO:
Actor Brian Dietzen (from the hit television series "NCIS") will be our special guest, while members from the worldwide “Star WarsTM” costuming group 501st Legion will serve as Grand Marshals. Shane’s Inspiration co-founder and “NCIS” executive producer Scott Williams will emcee the festivities. Music will be provided by Power 106FM, and the LA Galaxy Star Squad will provide extra fun for the kids.
SPECIAL EXHIBIT:
Esme & Roy, the first new animated series from the creators of Sesame Street in more than a decade, will exhibit an interactive display for families to enjoy. Together, a young girl Esme and her best monster friend Roy have playful and creative adventures as the best monster babysitters in Monsterdale. Targeting preschool aged children, this engaging new series, which recently debuted on HBO, offers a creative new approach for teaching “learning through play” and mindfulness strategies.
