Caravans are not just for the summer holidays says leading caravan insurance broker
With an estimated 1.5 million people regularly taking touring caravan / motorhome holidays*, caravanning is a popular holiday choice. Many people, however, don't just use their caravans more than once or twice a year for holidays, but for weekend breaks throughout the year too. With this in mind, caravan insurance specialists Cover4Caravans.co.uk asked their customers how often they use their caravans.
The study* revealed that:
- 77% of those questioned use their caravan more than five times a year, with some using them up to once a month and others using it from just a few days here and there for up to a few weeks at a time;
- 15% use their caravan three to four times a year;
- 8% say they use their caravan once or twice a year.
The survey also showed that the most popular caravan that first time caravan owners bought was a Sprite, followed by a Bailey Ranger.
If money was no object, a Bailey Unicorn Verona would be the tourer of choice.
Richard Burgess, Director at Cover4Caravans, says: “Our study has shown that the majority of our customers really make the most use out of their caravans.
“And it’s not surprising – with caravans nowadays being comfortable, spacious and luxurious places, with all the mod-cons you’d expect, they are the obvious choice!”
