Cornwall is Britain’s favourite childhood holiday destination for caravanners
A new study* has revealed that Cornwall is Brits’ favourite childhood destination. The poll - carried out by caravan insurance specialists Cover4Caravans – showed that 14% of customers have their best childhood memories from holidays in Cornwall.
The research also showed that:
- just over one in ten (12%) said their favourite holiday destination was Wales;
- 10% said Devon;
- 7% of respondents said their best childhood holidays were in Scotland;
- Dorset and Blackpool attracted 5% and 6% of peoples’ favourite memories respectively.
Richard Burgess, Director at Cover4Caravans.co.uk says: “We polled our customers to see which childhood destination evoked the best memories. It was heart warming to see that Great Britain, despite its often temperamental weather, beat other warmer and more so-called glamorous destinations such as Florida and Brittany.”
Mr. Burgess adds that one customer said that the ‘seaside followed by the sweet shop’ was their favourite holiday destination. “This,” he says “truly sums up everything that is great about a UK holiday.”
