Don’t get frozen out of making an insurance claim

With Winter approaching, insurance specialist Cover4Caravans.co.uk is reminding static home owners to ensure they comply with the winter weather conditions of their static caravan insurance policy – otherwise, they could see a claim rejected.

Richard Burgess, Director at Cover4Caravans, explains: “While policy conditions often vary between insurance providers, most will demand that the static home’s water and central heating systems are drained down during the closing of the site over the winter months, and the water turned off at the stopcock.

“This is to prevent damage caused by frozen water in pipes and systems which can be costly to repair.

“Some policyholders may be unaware that there are certain conditions they need to meet as part of their static caravan insurance contract. It is imperative therefore, that they fully understand their obligations in order to not void their cover, as well as any policy exclusions”.
