Cranfield University’s Alexander Le Page was the only UK student to gain an Honourable Mention in this year’s Boeing Engineering Student of the Year Award.

The Aerospace Vehicle Design MSc student won the Mention after writing about his achievements within the aerospace sector. These have included working as part of a group to design a box-wing airliner and individually researching the impact of environmental effects on aircraft composite bolted joints while at Cranfield.

The 25 year old from Milton Keynes said: “I feel like I have done Cranfield and myself proud. I’m thrilled to have received  the accolade and glad that Cranfield was able to get a mention at such an event.”

The Boeing Engineering Student of the Year competition is sponsored by Boeing and Flightglobal magazine and aims to encourage engineering students to pursue careers in the aerospace-related sectors.
