Architect of Personal Development Dies
The visionary entrepreneur and founder of worldwide phenomenon LMI, Leadership Management International, Paul J Meyer has died at the age of 81.
He is considered by most to be the founder and one of the most influential people in the history of the personal development industry. Many of the world’s most recognised personal development leaders name Paul J Meyer as the catalyst that influenced their lives and set them on a path to teach the power of personal goal setting and achieving success. Paul began his working life in California where, before he was 25, he had built the largest insurance agency and became the highest paid insurance salesman in North America. He recruited 820 agents in 12 months at a time when the average company comprised of 5 to 20 employees. As a sales agent himself during that time, he personally earned the equivalent of £4.8 million at today’s rates. For the last 50 years, he continued to earn up to $20 million a year. Paul’s success can be attributed to the fact that he was more than a leader; he was an achiever, a winner, a true motivator. He believed “Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass”. And for more than five decades, by spreading this message he inspired millions of people around the world to become winners in every facet of their lives. To this day he remains top selling author of personal development materials in the world with more than $3 billion of materials sold, which have been translated into 24 languages in more than 60 countries. LMI was established 40 years ago and is now an internationally successful organisation. LMI-UK is the foremost management and personal development, leadership skills and sales training provider in the UK.
