Leading Architects Celebrate Future of Construction In Birmingham
Key players from Birmingham’s leading construction companies recently united to celebrate industry success in the city at the annual Aedas Chairman’s Dinner.
This enjoyable evening was hosted by UK Chairman, Brian Johnson, at the Radisson SAS Hotel in the city centre on 25 February. Guest of honour was Mike Whitby, leader of Birmingham City Council, who gave a rousing presentation on the future of construction in Birmingham while former MP, Rt Hon David Mellor, raised spirits with an entertaining after dinner speech. The top table then invited guests to participate in an open, honest discussion on the way forward for Birmingham. International architects, Aedas, one of the world’s leading organisations are soon to relocate their Birmingham offices to one of the city’s highest profile office schemes. Colmore Plaza, designed by the team in 2005, will become the new Midlands headquarters and also act as a national meeting hub for the company’s international and regional offices. Aedas Chairman, Brian Johnson said: “This annual event is always successful. Many strong bonds and working relationships are both established and restored during the evening. It presents leaders in our industry with the opportunity to raise issues and voice opinions in an atmosphere of trust and respect.” Aedas Midlands Regional HQ is expected to open in summer 2010.
