Providing solutions to difficult problems in the battle against climate change.

The Birmingham Best Practice Club (BBPC) host monthly breakfast events for construction, and related, industry representatives. The next meeting will take place on 6 May at The Hotel Du Vin, Birmingham. The guest speaker will be David Darlaston, West Midlands Regional Director with Business in the Community (BITC). David will be explaining how, as leaders, we can provide solutions to difficult problems in the battle against climate change. He is a member of the Regional Minister’s Task Group, Regional Economic Inclusion Panel and the Regional Equality and Diversity Partnership. Construction, and related, companies are uniquely placed to lead, collaborate and share in the transformation towards a sustainable future. Together they can tackle climate change, resource depletion and create a route map for a better way of working and living. The industry is ideally placed, as a major contributor to carbon emissions, to make a really difference in the years ahead. Business in the Community supports the integration of corporate responsibility into companies' sourcing policies and procurement processes to effectively manage risk in the supply chain. It can also create new opportunities in terms of savings, innovation, and supplier relations management. The Prince’s Mayday Network, convened by Business in the Community, is a collaboration of businesses at all stages on the low carbon journey. The aim is to inspire, engage, support and challenge as they work together towards a sustainable future.
