We’ve all heard horror stories about what goes on behind the scenes in restaurants but rarely do we witness the evidence. In a new series currently being screened on ITV 1 we catch a glimpse of what the customers don’t see of Britain's £70 billion food industry.Presented by celebrity chef Phil Vickery and Rebecca Wilcox, daughter of Esther Rantzen and Desmond Wilcox, the programme shows undercover footage that takes viewers into restaurant kitchens. Environmental health officers are then brought in to shut down establishments with cockroaches in the kitchen and mice droppings on chopping
