Ashley Tudor Intertwines Art with the Wild
Artist demonstrates the use of bronze into sculpting her love of the outdoors.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SAN FRANCISCO- March 5, 2013 - Ashley Tudor of Bronzed European Mounts, a San Francisco-based artist, blends her passion of nature, with her love of art, to create stunning bronze sculpted mounts.
Ashley Tudor lends a new perspective to taxidermy with her new “Trophies” series. Inspired by her own experiences with the outdoors, Tudor works with hunters and designers to transform traditional European mounts into art. The one-of-a-kind sculptures feature antlers assembled to high polished metallic skulls, and explore the intersection of the natural world and the human role in it.
The ancient method of lost-wax casting is used to replicate the natural skulls in a process that takes at least three months. Tudor uses her design background and aesthetic knowledge to customize each piece.
“Each art piece has a life of its own. When I hunt it is more about the experience than the end result. You can go weeks without seeing an animal and it’s hard, long work traversing the land. That effort makes the outcome extra special” , said Ashley Tudor.
Tudor’s work has received acclaim from hunters and designers alike for its contemporary style and worldly appeal. Renown COUP D’ETAT in San Francisco, and BDDW in New York City, currently carry the exclusive pieces.
