Curacao Expands Mobile Program Through Tools Developed by Phaz2

Having experienced great success in its initial mobile offerings, the Southern California retailer expands mobile initiatives.

LOS ANGELES, CA – December 19, 2012 – Sandra Holmes and Donna Freed, co-founders of Phaz2, announced today that Curacao, the trusted Southern California retailer serving the Hispanic community, has expanded its relationship with Phaz2.

Curacao first “dipped its toe” into the mobile space with Phaz2 early in 2011, offering an initial SMS text program.  Having experienced great success in engaging their customers through this program, Curacao has created additional initiatives to integrate its marketing program more consistently into the mobile channel, utilizing various mobile offerings.  According to Ms. Freed, “Curacao’s unique code, which runs through Phaz2’s proprietary platform, Stiletto P2, will continue to offer its customers the kind of offers and information they find so valuable.  Additionally, they have begun using our SiteBuilder tool, which allows for Curacao to build an unlimited number of mobile landing pages to convey their varied offerings and collect customer data when desired.”  Ms. Freed added, “Curacao initially provided SMS text alerts in Spanish only.  But in this latest expansion, their customers will be able to choose between Spanish and English communications.”

To illustrate the importance of mobile in the Hispanic community, Ms. Holmes offered, “This group is very reliant on their mobile phones and expect to stay informed and engaged with brands from whom they want to receive information.”  Quoting statistics from a recent Media Post survey, Ms. Holmes added, “93% of U.S. Hispanics use a mobile phone regularly.  Furthermore, Hispanics, regardless of language preference, over-index the general market in their usage of mobile and smartphones.”
