Brilliant award-winning chef, Dennis Leary scoops up award two consecutive years in a row

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- September 9, 2014- San Francisco’s esteemed Best Chefs Academy announces the 2014 Best Chef Awards naming serial restaurateur, Dennis Leary, as the 2014 Empire Builder of the Year. The award comes as little surprise since Leary has spearheaded a SoMa-FiDi takeover with projects including: Trocadero Club, Cafe Terminus, and most recently Natoma Cabana.

Leary holds the title for the second year in a row, having been named Empire Builder of the Year at the 2013 Eater Awards, alongside partner Eric Passetti. Their most recent business bar venture, Natoma Cabana, opened their doors on July 16th in the former John Collins space. Leary and Passetti transformed the onetime blacksmith shop into a casual beer-garden-like setting, with an atmosphere reminiscent of a summer backyard barbecue.

“We want to build timeless places,”says Leary about his vision for his bars and restaurants, “The brand is that there is no brand.”The pair kicked off their career in 2008 by opening a sandwich shop known for its gourmet sandwiches and long lines, The Sentinel. Their next historic business venture: saving San Francisco’s century-old saloon right next door to The Sentinel, House of Shields. Leary continues to open eateries and bars such as the Golden West, Café Terminus, and Trocadero Club.

Leary has no plans of ending his reign on the empire that he has built in San Francisco’s SoMa-FiDi. We can’t wait to see what the unstoppable duo has in store for us next.
