World’s best business class climate takes-off - Airbus delivers first Inflight Humidification equipped A350 to China Southern Airlines
CTT SYSTEMS AB (“CTT”), the market leader of aircraft humidity control systems, announces that China Southern Airlines is the first airline to take delivery of the A350 equipped with the optional Inflight Humidification (IFH) system. China Southern Airlines is first in Business Class to offer a striking humidity increase, restored to comfort and wellbeing level. The aircraft delivery was marked by a celebration at Airbus facilities in Toulouse, France, on June 28th.
China Southern has selected the Inflight Humidification (IFH) system, a highly appreciated feature in the VIP aircraft world, to elevate its A350 Business Class cabin climate performance. The IFH system restores relative humidity (RH) to comfort level of 20-23% and generates an outstanding cabin climate compared to a standard equipped Business Class cabin that is more dehydrating than any place on earth.
Optimizing the inflight climate for better wellbeing is all about replicating earth conditions. China Southern is leading-the-way by equipping the Inflight Humidification System on its long-haul A350 fleet. The A350XWB aircraft is standard-fitted with leading-edge climate features, such as lowered cabin altitude (6000 ft), reduced noise and vibrations, draft-free ventilation, fresher air (renewed more often) and multiple temperature-zones. Although basic configured A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft obtain better humidity from a passive increase of about 1-2 % RH, it is still far too dry - below 10 % RH. In order for airlines to further improve climate and optimize the performance, Airbus has designed the A350XWB with the optional Inflight Humidification System to be fitted in the First Class and Business Class cabin.
China Southern is first with the IFH system on the A350 and is the first airline ever to offer IFH in business class. Passengers will hereby benefit from the significant increase in humidity - with reduction of dry air related problems (e.g. fatigue, red eyes, dry skin, spread of virus diseases). With restored inflight humidity, passengers feel more balanced, at ease and more easily can stay hydrated, ensuring quality of sleep and jet lag reduction.
