Enhancing clinical and strategic expertise to advance next-generation cell therapies

Stockholm, Sweden – CuraCell TX AB (CuraCell) today announced the appointment of Dr. Thomas Jaecklin and Prof. Martin Forster to its Board of Directors, further strengthening the company’s leadership as it advances its mission to develop transformative cell-based therapies.

Dr. Thomas Jaecklin is a drug development leader with over 25 years of experience in academic medicine, biotech and pharma. He played a pivotal role in building Mirum Pharmaceutical success in cholestatic liver disease by initiating the spin-out of its lead assets and leading its clinical development to successful approvals. As Chief Medical Officer of NodThera, he shaped the clinical strategy and financing narrative of the clinical stage biotech active in CV risk reduction, obesity and Parkinson’s Disease.

He has a track record of leading multiple approvals, shaping regulatory policy at the highest level and participated in several financing rounds and company build-ups. Thomas brings deep clinical and operational insight, regulatory acumen and a broad drug development and investor network. Dr. Jaecklin holds an M.D. from the University of Geneva and an M.Sc. from the University of Toronto and is board-certified in paediatrics, neonatology, and critical care medicine.

Prof. Martin Forster is a Professor of Cancer Medicine at University College London (UCL) and Consultant Medical Oncologist at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He specializes in Thoracic and Head and Neck Cancers and has a particular interest in drug development, running a broad portfolio of studies from first-in-human to registration Phase III trials. He has extensive experience in innovative trial design and clinical delivery of studies investigating novel agents and is UCL ECMC Academic Lead and UCLH Clinical Lead for Cancer Research. He collaborates broadly with national and international groups involved in translational research and has published on topics ranging from cancer biology to translational oncology and clinical studies.
