HOUSTON - Demonstrating its expertise and passion for innovative polymer engineering in the offshore oil and gas sector, Trelleborg will present a series of technical lectures on industry-related topics and trends at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas, from May 6-9.

As a key area of focus on the company’s stand (No. 5255) throughout the show, Trelleborg experts will discuss current issues of concern to the industry. In total, eight technical presentations will be given at the show, with every session repeated each day to ensure visitors to the stand don’t miss out.

Fredrik Meuller, President for the Trelleborg Offshore & Construction business area, commented: “As a world leader in engineered polymer solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, we have an extensive experience in developing high-performance innovations that seal, damp and protect in the most demanding and harsh environments.

“As such, we are always keen to share our vast knowledge and application expertise with our customers to help them accelerate their performance, now and in the future. OTC provides us with the perfect stage from which to demonstrate our technical capabilities and know-how, directly to those that could profit from them the most. We are eager to welcome visitors to the stand to attend the sessions and share with us their thoughts and opinions on some key industry trends.”

Doug Marti, Market Development Manager within Trelleborg Offshore & Construction, will look at the importance of gaining Coast Guard approval for fire suppression equipment.

Marti has been with Trelleborg for over 14 years and worked across nearly all areas of Trelleborg Offshore in the U.S., the U.K. and Norway. He has a solid understanding of the seismic, subsea installation and production operations as well as topside rubber products.

Ben Wait, Sales Manager – Offshore Construction, and Jorgen Sletten, Director of Innovation and Technology within Trelleborg Offshore & Construction, will address the issue of flow assurance, discussing why the need for dependable and efficient thermal insulation has never been more important for deep and ultra deep water developments.

Wait has spent his career working in the offshore oil and gas sector and the last eight years with Trelleborg focusing on the commercial aspects of offshore architecture insulation systems.

Sletten, who has also spent his entire career in the offshore oil and gas industry, is an expert in rubber insulation technologies and has been with Trelleborg for two and a half years.

Bill Allan, European Oil & Gas Segment Manager within Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, will look at the approvals and standards that impact on polymer seals and how best these can be met in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Allan has supported customers in specifying seals for offshore oil and gas applications for over 30 years, helping originate many industry-leading solutions for extremely difficult offshore environments. He has considerable experience of emerging markets, including Russia, Brazil and South Africa.

Eric Bucci, Segment Manager for Oil & Gas Americas within Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, will focus on designing more effective sealing solutions using sealing-specific FEA techniques.

Bucci, who has a BSME from the University of Texas and started working for a Houston seal company as a seal design engineer in 1992, has been with Trelleborg for over 16 years. In his current role his responsibilities include market development and identification of future growth trends for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions products.
