Management changes at AB Custos The Board of Directors of AB Custos has appointed Mikael Nachemson the new Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Nachemson will assume this post on October 1, 2001. Christer Gardell, CEO, and Lars Förberg, Deputy CEO, are stepping down from their positions on October 1, 2001 to develop their own investment business. They will be available to the CEO and the Board of Custos through December 2001. Mr. Gardell and Mr Förberg will continue holding the external company directorships they have today. "During my more than five years as CEO, Custos has provided its shareholders with a return of nearly 300 percent, which exceeds the index by nearly 200 percentage points. Including today's redemption proposal, Custos has also distributed a total of more than SEK 11 billion to its shareholders. I thus believe that I have fulfilled my task," Mr. Gardell says. "My duty is to ensure good value creation in Custos' portfolio companies. Meanwhile I am aware that, as long as the discount to net asset value remains, Custos' long-term raison d'être is questionable," Mr. Nachemson says. "Christer Gardell has chosen to go into business for himself. We greatly appreciate his work at Custos during an intensive and, for Custos' shareholders, very fruitful period. At the same time, we are very happy to bring Mikael Nachemson to Custos.
