Cybercom and Advoco enter partnership for IP telephony Cybercom entered a partnership with Advoco Software AB and is starting this joint effort by delivering Internet Protocol (IP) telephony solutions. Cybercom will take care of installation, support, and maintenance of Advoco's IP phone installations for Vasallen, a real estate operation. The partnership with Advoco is part of Cybercom's focus on the IP telephony area. "Right now there's enormous demand from large and small businesses," says Bengt Levin, manager of the Cybercom Group's Telecom & Services business area. "Many enterprises are considering a switch to IP telephony - thanks to opportunities for a combination of huge savings and more efficient operations. Today, these enterprises have sufficient capacity in their data networks for using IP telephony." For Cybercom, the Advoco deal includes delivery of installation, maintenance, and support for Vasallen's telephony systems in its 17 subsidiaries throughout Sweden. "Cybercom is highly capable in the IP telephony area," says Richard McHugh, CEO of Advoco Software. "And together, we can deliver a total solution to customers throughout Sweden - for contracts that cover systems, installation, and support. Our common offering is one of the market's most attractive when it comes to IP telephony for enterprises." NetPBX, Advoco's IP-based enterprise switchboard, is a total telephony solution that enables a flexible, co-ordinated telephony platform with a wide range of powerful functions. The solution is being delivered as a network-based service via network operators, or it is being directly installed in the company's network (the customer-placed equipment concept). This gives organisations opportunities to cut their total telephony and IT costs by 25%. "Cybercom's capabilities are well-co-ordinated with Advoco's technical platform," says Bengt Levin. "We see many great opportunities for attractive, customer- and industry-specific solutions on Advoco's platform."
