Cybercom Singapore won an optimisation contract with MobiFone – the leading mobile operator in Vietnam. Cybercom will perform benchmarking and optimisation services for MobiFone’s mobile network.

In a national outsourcing tender in Vietnam, Cybercom and its local partner TTCI were awarded a large proportion of territory in Vietnam – to benchmark and optimise MobiFone’s network quality. The contract’s total value is about USD 2 million and covers six months. “We’re delighted to be awarded more than 50% of this national outsourcing project,” says Conny Karlsson, MD, Cybercom Singapore and MEA. “Winning this tender in tough competition from multiple international consultancies shows that we can offer a very competitive business proposition to operators in the region. We’re confident that the experiences we accumulated from other large projects in emerging markets will enable Mobifone-VMS to achieve operational excellence when it comes to network quality in Vietnam.” The Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services company (VMS) is a state-owned operation, which is monitored by the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Corporation. VMS has become the first GMS 900/1800 mobile telephony services provider (under the MobiFone brand name), and this marks a solid launch of the mobile telephony industry in Vietnam. MobiFone specializes in developing and building networks and providing mobile telephony. “We’re very proud of this contract,” says Patrik Boman, president and CEO, Cybercom Group. “VMS is a new, key Asian customer. Once again, we have proven that we have a global reach with our world-class Telecom Management offerings.”
