Do they exist? Caught on camera or just a hoax? Just as recently as March of this year sightings of Bigfoot have been reported in Nebraska USA and tales goat decapitations, believed to be the work of the Chupacabra, also known as ‘The Goat Sucker’ have been reported in Chile in early August. Each year tourists flock to Loch Ness in the hope of spotting the legendary Loch Ness Monster. But do these ‘monsters’ really exist? And with so many alleged sightings and reports of aliens, beasts and giant sea creatures why are so many keen to discount the existence of monsters and the paranormal? Dr Melvin Willin of the SPR and author of Ghosts Caught on Film (David & Charles) says: “Experiences are subjective and always open to change as more knowledge is accepted or rejected” In his new book for David & Charles, Dr Willin discusses all manner of monsters, from big cats to aquatic vampires and living dinosaurs, and of course not forgetting Nessie and Bigfoot, evidence of which have all been caught on film and collected in Monsters Caught on Film, on these images Dr Willin explains: “Your ‘boggle’ threshold may well be different to mine, so let us explore these images in a spirit of learning and enjoyment, lest future generations are appalled at our naiveté or intransigence.”
