DAVID LLOYD LEISURE INVESTS £3.4M IN NEW FACILITIES AT CHIGWELL CLUB TO SUPPORT HEALTHY AND ACTIVE LIVES

David Lloyd Leisure is investing £3.4 million in its Chigwell club as part of a major investment programme to continue providing members with unrivalled facilities to achieve their health and fitness goals.
As part of the ambitious project at the club in Roding Lane, Buckhurst Hill, Europe’s leading health, sports and leisure group is installing a new DL Kids facility - comprising two multi-purpose activity rooms and a large soft play area – to provide children aged 0-11 years with an extensive range of programmes specifically designed to complement the way they learn in pre-school and school time.
Activities include arts and crafts, creative play, hundreds of types of games and sports coaching, as well as birthday parties, after-school clubs and DL Kids Holiday Active programmes running during the school holidays.
One of the main new features will be a wet spa facility, including a spa pool, plunge pool, sauna, steam rooms and relaxation area, plus an outdoor spa garden providing the ultimate haven for unwinding and de-stressing. And there will be free spa access for all existing members and adults who join the club before August 31, 2014!*
Members will also be able to unwind, work or enjoy a meal in the modern, stylish and relaxing surroundings of the new bespoke DLicious cafebar - including an adult-only seating area - which offers the whole family a great range of healthy options from the award-winning menu** integrating David Lloyd Leisure’s approach to eating with its exercise expertise.
There will be a brand new gym offering the latest in gym equipment and innovation, a functional training zone, three exercise studios for high impact, mind and body, and spin classes, as well as two physiotherapy rooms.
The outdoor pool terrace, pool bar and indoor pool facilities are also being revamped, as well as the club’s badminton courts, locker rooms – including a new family change zone – and reception area.
Work on the Chigwell scheme, the most ambitious club investment by David Lloyd Leisure as part of a wider £50m facilities investment programme across its estate, began in April and is being undertaken in three phases, with completion due early autumn.
