DAVID LLOYD LEISURE LAUNCHES HIGH-INTENSITY GRIT TRAINING
David Lloyd Leisure, Europe’s premier health, sports and leisure group, is launching LES MILLS GRIT™, a fitness series consisting of three high-intensity interval classes; LES MILLS GRIT™CARDIO, LES MILLS GRIT™STRENGTH and LES MILLS GRIT™PLYO, giving members a 30 minute class which will help to improve strength, stamina and overall fitness.
The GRIT series has been designed to target specific areas and particular benefits that people are looking to work on and achieve, whether it’s to help lose weight, tone up or build muscle. Each class is scientifically backed from Penn State University in the US, and is proven to deliver the best results for users:
- LES MILLS GRIT™CARDIO involves 30 minutes of extreme fat burn, which includes an afterburn that lasts hours after the class is finished. The class burns approximately 600 calories per 30 minute session.
- LES MILLS GRIT™STRENGTH focuses on muscle training, working all major muscles groups to leave participants lean and toned. The class burns approximately 400 calories per 30 minute session.
- LES MILLS GRIT™PLYO is based on the principles of plyometrics, and helps to build a powerful, athletic body. The class burns approximately 500 calories per 30 minute session.
Regardless of whether it’s a small group or larger team, each of the three workouts is designed to be fast-paced and full of energy. Both instructors and participants motivate each other, pushing each to their limit during the classes. The high-energy group dynamic encourages people to come back for more, and long-term results become possible.
Dave Kyle, Head Trainer at LES MILLS™, said: "LES MILLS GRIT™SERIES is the ultimate programme! Unlike other HIIT workouts, GRIT is taught by highly skilled coaches, backed by strong, scientific research and set to explosive music. Each workout is updated every three months to keep the moves fresh, and the results coming.
GRIT™ really stands out from other HIIT offerings because of its group training quality. The nature of small group training creates a connection between class-goers and coaches, by harnessing the power of the group! Participants feel part of a team, like in sports training, and receive one-on-one attention from their coach, pushing them to their limit to get the results they want. We hope that everybody gets their GRIT™ face on and tries out a class; we guarantee they will love it."
Michelle Dand, Group Programming and Fitness Development Manager at David Lloyd Leisure, said: “We are always looking for new exciting and innovative classes for our members and I am delighted to launch the LES MILLS GRIT™ series.
“It’s great for all of our members, whether they are looking to tone up, get in better shape or improve specific parts of their bodies. It’s also convenient for those who are strapped for time and want to get as much as possible out of a workout, in minimal time.”
LES MILLS GRIT™ is available now at David Lloyd Leisure clubs across the country, with further roll out taking place throughout the year. For more information on class locations please visit the website www.davidlloyd.co.uk/grit.
