More DLicious dishes added with a ‘fresh and tasty’ focus

David Lloyd Leisure has launched a new and improved DLicious menu, featuring an even greater choice of tasty, healthy and balanced dishes to support members’ well-being.

Europe’s premier health, sports and leisure group has further enhanced its food and beverage offering with more fresh, natural and tasty meals and snacks to eat in club or take away.

The launch comes shortly after David Lloyd Leisure won the leisure category of the Menu Innovation and Development Awards (MIDAS) 2014 for DLicious. The awards, bestowed by the Menu Innovation Network, recognise the outstanding creative talents of menu development managers and group executive chefs in the food service industry.

Supporting members with busy lifestyles, the DLicious: Fast Fitness Food concept integrates David Lloyd Leisure’s approach to eating with its expertise in helping people achieve their health and fitness goals through sport and exercise.

The new menu, featuring more dishes using quality ingredients than ever before, is complemented by a bespoke children’s menu and delicatessen range.

New additions include: Stuffed Red Pepper; Grilled Chicken Katsu; British Pork Chop; Pot Stickers (chicken or vegetable dumplings served with soy and herb dipping sauce); Edameme Beans; Lettuce Wraps (avocado or chicken wrapped in Gem lettuce mixed with cherry tomatoes, red onion, quinoa and coriander); and Smoked Mackerel Paté.

Others now featuring on the menu are: Roasted Squash Salad; Quinoa and Avocado Salad; Proscuitto Ham and Rocket Leaves, Superfood Wrap (avocado, cress, shredded vegetables and houmous garnished with an Aisan slaw); and a range of wholemeal, Khobez flatbreads.

DLicious has been developed by a dedicated team of chefs, nutritionists and health and fitness experts at David Lloyd Leisure to help members meet their core nutritional and lifestyle needs.

The DLicious approach aims to help members feel energised throughout the day, enabling them to reap the rewards that come with eating the right kind of carbohydrates, protein and essential fats in the right proportions (40:30:30) to improve physical performance and well-being.

Kevin Harper, David Lloyd Leisure’s group head of food and beverage, said: “I’m extremely proud of the hard work and dedication that our team have put into the DLicious menu to support our members in improving their well-being, which has earned us this fantastic recognition from the Menu Innovation Network.

“We’re continually looking at ways to further improve and innovate our food and beverage offering, which aims to support our members’ health and fitness goals and takes into account their very valuable feedback, and I’m delighted that our new DLicious menu offers an even greater choice of fresh and tasty dishes for the whole family to enjoy.”
