Decathlon launches two great ways to get down

the slopes this winter - at home or abroad

Snow is on its way, which means it could be time to dig out the winter sports equipment and head for the ski resorts.

Alternatively, you could be just a quick trip or click away from some snow fun thanks to Decathlon stores and its website decathlon.co.uk.

The international sports retailer is bringing fun to the slopes this winter with the launch of two new innovative slides that give the experience of sledging, skiing, or snowboarding on your own doorstep.  No need to fill the boot with bulky equipment to get a snow buzz. Whatever a person’s age or ability, holiday plans, or budget, these new concepts will give you a thrill on a hill.

Wed’ze RUNSLIDE

You can really hit the ground running with the Wed’ze RUNSLIDE. For children aged eight to 13, this makes the first experience of the slopes a highly accessible and fun one.  A cross between a ski and a snowboard, the learner straps one of each light, short Runslides onto each foot, giving ultimate controllability. With no need for any other equipment bar a warm pair of shoes and a helmet for extra safety, kids can be learning balance and control on snow with ease, and without fear.

Wed’ze FUNNYSLIDE

For children of any age who prefer something even easier to use, Decathlon has developed the ultimate in light, portable, foldaway sledges. The Wed’ze FUNNYSLIDE is just that: a bright yellow and purple sledge mat with two handles to direct, meaning expensive sledges (and tea-trays) can be put away for good.  And at the end of a good day’s winter fun, the insulated Funnyslide also makes a perfect warm seat to rest weary limbs while you enjoy a snowy picnic.

Decathlon National Mountain Sports Manager Vincent Leclerc said: “There’s no need for winter fun on the slopes to be expensive. With these new products, children – and big kids – can be enjoying themselves within seconds of getting the Funnyslide or Runslide out of the car; no experience or expense necessary.”
