Deflamo AB: Project with Apyrum takes a step forward

Deflamo has received a new test order as one of our customer projects has proceeded to a full-scale manufacturing test. Our customers product is a mat made of synthetic textile fibre together with a soft and flame retardant PVC plastic. The mat will be used in public buildings with high fire protection standards and wear resistance.
Deflamo is one of the participating suppliers of additives in the development project run by the customer. The project's goal is to maintain a high level of fire retardancy even though some of the new components in the mat are burning more than previous components. At the same time, alternative plasticisers have been evaluated to optimize product characteristics and economics. The result so far is that the client's project is moving forward with two alternative formulations, both containing Deflamo's flame retardant Apyrum and environmentally friendly phthalate-free plasticizers.
In order to carry out the necessary manufacturing tests, the customer has made a smaller order of Apyrum. The value of this test order is of insignificant value but marks the next phase of our customers project. The purpose of upcoming tests is to evaluate process and product properties in full scale manufacturing. Next step is fire test and certification.
If the tests are successful it could still be 6-12 months before any commercial orders would be placed with Deflamo. The full economic potential and the future development of our customers project depends on factors beyond Deflamo's control.
