University of Hartford Professor Dr. Richard Freund To Speak About "Finding Atlantis" At Beth El Temple On Sunday, May 22, 2011

Affectionately referred to as Connecticut's own “Indiana Jones”, Professor Richard Freund, Ph.D, director of the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Hartford, is world renowned for his work on the archaeology of the land of Israel, biblical studies, Jewish ethics and philosophy

(West Hartford, CT) -- Beth El Temple, located at 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, CT, announced today that University of Hartford Professor Dr. Richard Freund will speak about "Finding Atlantis" At Beth El Temple on Sunday, May 22, 2011.

Affectionately referred to as Connecticut's own “Indiana Jones”, Professor Richard Freund, Ph.D, director of the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Hartford, is world renowned for his work on the archaeology of the land of Israel, biblical studies, Jewish ethics and philosophy. He was recently filmed in the new National Geographic Channel film entitled, "Finding Atlantis," which premiered on March 13, 2011.

Find out how Freund connected the Lost City of Atlantis to Spain and the Straits of Gibraltar and how did he confirm his findings by attending the event Freund will be sharing his story in a community-wide program “Finding Atlantis and Tarshish” on Sunday May 22, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at Beth El Temple, West Hartford. Freund will present unpublished pieces of the story that include why Atlantis might actually be biblical Tarshish. He will show parts of the program released by National Geographic and emphasize the Biblical aspects and tie-ins to ancient Jewish history. Admission is $10 and $5 for Beth El Temple Men’s Club members, teens and children. Admission also includes an elegant brunch.
