Leading timber processors, Glennon Brothers, will be showcasing innovative uses of Irish timber at the forthcoming Electric Picnic Music & Arts festival from the 3rd of September 2010. Following on from their successful involvement in Electric Picnic 2009, Glennon Brothers have once again teamed up with Coford and the Wood Collective collaboration for this project. This year’s collaborative engagement is a folded landscape of wood, incorporating the dramatic Crashing Wave structure, premiered at the Bergen International Wood Festival earlier this year. Built from sustainably sourced Irish timber and incorporating interpretative material on the lifecycle and environmental significance of wood, the installation is sure to become a convivial and sociable hub for all festival goers! As pioneers of Irish timber over many years, Glennon Brothers continue to push the boundaries of machinery and technology to produce home grown timber to the highest international standards. The Glennon Brothers Group has been manufacturing high-quality timber products since 1913, and is now the premier name in the Irish and UK timber processing industry. Through its plants in Ireland and Scotland, the firm offers a one-stop-shop solution, supplying both the Irish and UK markets with volume products for the construction, pallet wood and fencing industries. The Glennon Brothers Group is also a leading provider of quality timber frame homes and engineered roof trusses in the UK and Ireland through Alexander Timber Design based in Troon, and Dempsey Timber Engineering (DTE) based in Arklow. The Group is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and has gained Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for its products across all timber processing sites that they are sourced from sustainably managed forests. www.glennonbrothers.ie Ends This information and further details from Jane Maher at Denvir T: 01786 448 160 / 07789 225 171 E: jane@denvirmarketing.com
