Photo Caption 24th September 2010 Locals Enjoy the Tesco Taste Northern Ireland Garden Party in Belfast The Tesco Taste Northern Ireland Garden Party went down a storm with locals in Belfast on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September 2010. The event, jointly organised by Tesco and Belfast City Council, was officially opened by Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster and The Right Honourable, The Lord Mayor of Belfast Cllr Patrick Convery, attracted over 12,000 visitors and welcomed cookery demonstrations from Derek Patterson from The Plough Inn, Sean Owens from Gardiners Restaurant, John McErlain from Genesis Breads, Jason More from CoCo Restaurant, Eddie Fung from Hakka Noodles, tasting activities with Wendy Donaldson – Home Economist and a one-off Diageo cocktail finale. As well as live demonstrations, the event welcomed a host of exhibitors who were keen to showcase their local produce, including delicious hot pies from Millar Savoury Foods, a range of thirst quenching apple drinks from McCann Apples, creamy ice-cream from Morelli’s and Mullin’s, tasty sweet treats from Irwin’s Bakery and award winning local yogurts from Clandeboye. Alongside the finest food from the best local producers, visitors were also able to visit Belfast City Council’s Autumn Flower Show.
