The Logson Group has made a series of substantial investments throughout its Group of corrugated packaging companies with a view to secure future growth and to assert itself as a premier player in the packaging market. Mike Stephenson, Group Director, said: “We are wholly committed to providing our customers with the best possible service and so ongoing investment in our sites is essential to maintain a flexible, responsive and efficient approach to business.” Coalville based Board 24, will be investing £400,000 in installing an automatic slitter scorer with a dust removal system on the site’s Corrugator 2 in April. This will give a cleaner cut on the board and ensure that dust particles are automatically removed. The site will also be trialling the production of white and clay coated paper on Corrugator 2 following the installation of the slitter scorer, which will allow further growth in its market share in these board grades. Richard McBride, Managing Director at Board24, said: “The installation of the slitter scorer is part of our ongoing commitment to continually improving efficiency at our site and offering the best possible services and products to our customers.” A new state-of-the-art Bobst Vision die cutter will also be installed at the Boxes and Packaging site in Manchester – the premier machine in the market. The Bobst die cutter will considerably increase the Manchester site’s production capacity and will allow the site to continue to build on its client portfolio. Gary Hargreaves, Managing Director at Manchester said: “The Bobst die cutter is the best in its category and is an exciting addition to our site. The new machine will be invaluable in increasing and improving our efficiency, the quality of our packaging solutions and our client diversity.” The Logson Group brand stands for excellent service standards, offering customers efficiency, flexibility, stability and reliability of supply. Collectively the Group employs over 800 people and turns over £180m annually. www.logsongroup.co.uk This information and further details from Steph Jones at Denvir T: 01786 448 160 E: steph@denvirmarketing.com
