The Macdonald Aviemore Resort, located in the heart of Cairngorm National Park, is set to host this years’ SNP Campaign conference on 20th and 21st March 2010.

The Macdonald Aviemore Resort, located in the heart of Cairngorm National Park, is set to host this years’ SNP Campaign conference on 20th and 21st March 2010. Gerry McGee, chief executive at Macdonald Aviemore Resort, said: “This prestigious event showcases our ability to deliver resources on the largest scale. We were chosen to host the SNP conference due to our extensive conference facilities coupled with overnight accommodation for all attending guests, and ease of accessibility. We’re delighted to be expecting over 800 guests on Resort that weekend.” Rt Hon Alex Salmond MSP, SNP leader and First Minister, said: “The Macdonald Aviemore Resort is ideally placed, right in the heart of Scotland, for our forthcoming conference where we’ll be working towards building a more successful nation.” The conference will be hosted in the Resort’s Osprey Arena from 10am-5pm, with concurrent exhibitions from 9am-5.30pm across a variety of on Resort venues including the Peregrine and Strathspey Suites. Exhibitors include Amnesty International, Oxfam, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, RSPB and Scottish Breast Cancer Campaign (a full list of exhibitors is in notes to editors). The conference agenda includes motions on a range of topics from pensioner poverty, Big Lottery funding and rural tourism to Scotland’s alcohol problems. There is also a fringe scene, with vibrant social events and debates. The conference facilities at Macdonald Aviemore Resort include luxury accommodation, a specialist event management team, a 650 seater auditorium, eight individual meeting rooms for up to 100 people, private bar, free onsite car parking, PA system and microphones, multi-channel mixing desk, staging and wireless internet access; and delegate catering is delivered to the highest standard.
